The MAATA supports the educational endeavors of future athletic trainers by offering
scholarships to students showing potential in the profession.
Description of scholarships listed below.
Edward M. Block Undergraduate Scholarship Applicant shall be a student member in good standing of the NATA/District 3 or an NATA
student member in good standing and enrolled in a college or university within District 3.
Larry C. Sutton Postgraduate Scholarship Applicant shall be a member in good standing of the NATA/District 3 or an NATA member and
enrolled in a college/university within District 3.
A.C. "Whitey" Gwynne Masters Scholarship Applicant shall be a certified athletic trainer in good standing of the NATA/District 3 or an
NATA certified athletic trainer and be enrolled in the first year or prior to his/her final year
of completion of their master’s degree enrolled in a college/university within District 3.
The applicant must have at least 1 year remaining in their master’s program.
Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award
Applicant shall be a student member in good standing of the NATA/District 3 or an NATA
student member in good standing and enrolled in a college or university within District 3.
To be eligible for the Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award, you must be an NATA
undergraduate member who has never attended NATA’s Annual Meeting before.
This award assists a student with funding to attend the NATA Annual Meeting and Symposium.
The deadline is April 30th of each year.
